Immunizations are provided at the Newport and Lincoln City clinics, and at various outreach clinics at schools.
Lincoln County Public Health offers immunizations (vaccines or "shots") for infants, children, and adults
in clinics in our two offices and School Based Health Centers. Vaccines protect your child against many
childhood diseases such as diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, polio, measles and many others.
Shots are required by law for children who attend public and private schools, pre-schools, childcare facilities
and Head Start programs in Oregon. Nearly every place that provides care for a child outside the home
requires shots or a religious or medical exemption to stay enrolled.
New changes to that law require that kindergarten through 12th grade students be immunized against
Hepatitis B, 2nd dose of Measles and varicella for school since 2001-2002. Varicella immunizations are
now required for kindergartens and children entering first grade.
Vaccine schedules are based on the school law and follow:
Adults are offered Hepatitis A and B immunizations and TB (Tuberculosis) skin tests. Flu and Pneumonia vaccines are offered in season.
Costs for immunizations are based on costs of the vaccines and/or an administrative cost. Oregon Health Plan (OHP) is accepted. No one will be denied state supplied vaccines due to inability to pay.
Clinics may be by appointment.
